5 things to lock out before you can trust yourself again

Not a diet. Not a reset. Not another monday. Five things you lock out, two small actions each.

Lamisaa Mahmud / Strength & mindset coaching for women

0 of 5 locked out

You don't have a discipline problem.
You have a broken promise problem.

Every monday you start again. By thursday you've talked yourself out of it, and by sunday you're already writing the plan for next week. That cycle is not laziness. It is what happens when you have broken your own word to yourself so many times that part of you stopped believing you'd follow through.

So we are not going to add anything. No new plan, no new rules, no 5am. We are going to lock things out instead, one at a time, until your word means something to you again.

lock out /lok out/ verb

Taking one thing off the table completely.

So it stops costing you a decision every single day. You are not restricting yourself. You are removing the negotiation.

The five

1

Lock out breaking promises to yourself

  1. Make one small promise each day. Something you genuinely cannot make an excuse for, like a glass of water first thing in the morning.
  2. Do it even when you don't feel like doing it. Especially then. The whole point is the doing, not the thing.
Why this oneLearning how to trust yourself again. A promise you keep when it's inconvenient is worth more than a perfect week you never started.
2

Lock out drinking every single weekend

  1. Choose the events you actually want to drink at. Birthdays, weddings, celebrations. Not "it's friday".
  2. Set your number before you go, not while you're there. Two drinks decided at home beats five decided at the table.
Why this oneBeing in control of when and how much you drink, instead of the weekend deciding it for you.
3

Lock out aiming for perfect

  1. Do better in the immediate next decision. Not tomorrow, not monday. The next meal or the next workout.
  2. Set a minimum standard for the busy days. The version of the day that still counts when everything goes sideways.
Why this oneStopping one bad choice from turning into a spiral of bad choices. One off meal is one off meal. It is never the reason a whole week ends.
4

Lock out saying yes to everything

  1. Put your non-negotiables on the calendar first. What's left over is the space other people get to book.
  2. Stop answering immediately. Sit with it, then decide whether it actually lines up with what you said you wanted.
Why this oneBeing intentional about where your time goes, before the week passes and you've given it to everyone except yourself.
5

Lock out mindless eating

  1. No treats in the house. If you want it, you go out and get it. Out of sight, out of mind.
  2. Never eat straight from the bag. Portion it onto a plate first, then sit down with it.
Why this oneIndulging on purpose without losing control. No cutting carbs, no skipping meals, no giving up your culture.
